Science Palooza is an event hosted by the Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School Science National Honor Society that allows students to see STEAM concepts working in the world around them.

 

Science Palooza is an event hosted by the Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School Science National Honor Society that allows students to see STEAM concepts working in the world around them. Students rotate to participate in different workshops, do hands-on activities and listen to presentations. Science Palooza will kick off with a community night on March 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Main Gym and Auxiliary Gym. The following day, April 1, Lower and Middle Schools will come explore from 8-11 a.m. and the Upper School will participate from 11:15 a.m.-2:05 p.m. Our 2019 Global Scholar in Residence Amanda Hendrix, Ph.D will be at Science Palooza on both April 1 and 2.

STUDENT-RUN BOOTHS
HIES Science National Honor Society students create and run their own booths in the gym, allowing guests to learn about STEM ideas in the world around them through interactive displays and demonstrations.
STEM SESSIONS
Science Palooza includes four short, interactive, STEM-related lessons in the school's STEM Building.
GUEST BOOTHS
Science Palooza also features booths run by out-of-school guests. In the past, guest booths have included companies and organizations such as the CDC, the HIGH Museum, and Futurus Virtual Reality.
 
 
STEM TALKS
Science Palooza will feature two speaker presentations on STEM topics in the dining hall during the general public session.
